The Police Community Advisory Board (PCAB) is a link between the Chico community and its police department, working to enhance communication and transparency.

The Chico Police Department strongly embraces the philosophy of Community Policing in all its daily operations and functions. Community Policing makes it possible for the police and the community to share responsibility for identifying, reducing, eliminating and preventing problems that impact community safety and order. By working together, the police and the community can improve the quality of life in neighborhoods citywide.

Chief Aldridge states, “It is my goal to ensure our community has a system in place to provide a voice and participate in many areas of their police department’s operation, which helps to create transparency, trust, and respect for each other.”

Town Hall Meeting

Town Hall Meeting

On Wednesday, May 1, 2024, Chief Billy Aldridge and the Chico Police Community Advisory Board (PCAB) will hold a town hall meeting at the Old Chico City Hall. This event aims to foster community engagement and give community members an opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions with the police department and advisory board representatives.

On March 15, PCAB launched a Community Survey. The objective of the survey was to gauge the community's perceptions of the police department and help identify areas for improvement and prioritization of police services.

During the town hall meeting, Chief Aldridge and members of PCAB will present an overview of the survey results. Additionally, attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions.
PCAB extends their appreciation to all community members who have completed its survey and shared their valuable feedback.
