Welcome to the Chico Police Department Online Crime Reporting System. If this is an Emergency please call 911. This system allows you to submit a report immediately and print a copy of the police report for free. Please confirm the following to find out if online report filing is right for you:
 
  • This is not an Emergency
  • This incident occurred within the Chico City limits
  • There are no known suspects
  • The property taken does not include stolen firearms or stolen vehicles.
  • This did not occur on Highway 99 (CHP jurisdiction)

  • Be given a temporary police report case number
  • Be able to print a copy of the police report to keep for your records.

  • Fraudulent Use of ATM/Debit Card and/or Credit Card

  • Identity Theft
  • Lost Property
  • Non-Injury Traffic Accident

What do I do if online incident reporting is not right for me?

If your incident is an emergency, call 911. If it is not an emergency, call 530-897-4900.

What if this happened in another city, can I file a report using this system?

No, if a crime took place outside of the City of Chico Police Department jurisdiction, please call the law enforcement agency for that location.

What if this happened on a state Freeway; i.e., Hwy 99?

If this took place on a state Freeway, please call the California Highway Patrol Office nearest you.

What is a known suspect?

A known suspect is when you or someone else knows the person or where to find the person who committed the crime or the license plate number of the involved vehicle
