Police Community Advisory Board Recruitment
The City of Chico Police Department is seeking to re-establish its Police Community Advisory Board. With a goal of organizing a Board that is reflective of the diverse community, the Police Department is seeking representatives as follows:
1. At least one person who is either a CSU Chico or Butte Community College student, and lives in the City.
2. At least two persons who represent the business community as owners or managers of businesses located in the City (need not be actual residents of the City).
3. At least four citizens at large who live in the City (with a minimum of one representing each of the three policing districts in the City).
The Police Community Advisory Board will initially meet once per month on days and times determined by the Board. The Chico Police Department will utilize the Board for the purpose of reviewing and making recommendations to the Chief of Police, the City Manager and the City Council on matters pertinent to the operation of the Police Department. Areas such as general orders, budget review and assistance, program review and recommendations, organizational goals and objectives, and community outreach are all within the Board’s realm of responsibility.
Interested parties should submit an application to the City of Chico Chief of Police. Applications are available at the Chico Police Department, 1460 Humboldt Road, Chico or by accessing the link below. Following an application review, qualified applicants may be invited to an interview or a public process which includes a brief presentation before a panel of community stakeholders. Ultimately, appointments to the Board will be made by the Chief of Police.
The current recruitment period is open effective January 11, 2010, and will close January 29, 2010 at 5:00 PM.
