Planning Services
The Planning Services Department performs long-term planning and current planning functions. Long-term planning includes such activities as creation, implementation and maintenance of the General Plan, other comprehensive plans and related policy implementation. Current planning functions deal with land use, entitlements and permits. Planning Services is also responsible for gathering and disseminating planning information to the public, other City departments, the Planning Commission and the City Council.

Revised Landscaping Requirements In Effect Due to Adoption of AB 1881
As required by Assembly Bill 1881, landscaping plans submitted for plan check after January 1, 2010 will need to comply with the provisions of the revised state Model Water Efficient Landscape Ordinance (MWELO).
