Project tools, instruction and water provided onsite—please bring your own water container if possible! Please dress for the weather (in layers) and wear closed-toed shoes. Volunteers under 18 need to have a parent/guardian release form signed prior to work. Download: Declaration of Assumption and Release of liability.

August 20 -- (8 am to 11 am) Invasive Privet Tree Removal   Join Friends of Bidwell Park at Woodland Ave just east of Caper Acres Map (where South Park Dr exits the park). This is a Location Change from the original schedule!   If a group is coming or you know you'll be arriving late, please call Susan at 892-1666 or 321-3406 (cell) so we bring enough tools to the work site.

August 22 -- (8 am to 11 am) -- Invasive Privet Tree Survey & Removal  -- Join Friends of Bidwell Park at the east end of Woodland Ave where it dead-ends at Hwy 99 on the south side of Lower Park.Wear closed-toe shoes and long pants.  If a group is coming or you know you'll be arriving late, please call Susan at 321-3406 so we bring enough tools to the work site.

Volunteers will remove invasive Himalayan blackberry, horseweed, and other invasive plants from the restoration site and help water native plants. September 11 -- (9 am to noon) -- The Big Chico Creek Watershed Citizen Monitoring Program -- Volunteers will conduct water quality monitoring at Five Mile Recreation Area -- just east of the Manzanita Bridge on the south side of Big Chico Creek (meet in the Centennial Way parking lot).

September 18 -- Bidwell Park and Creeks of Chico Annual Cleanup. (9 am to 12:30 pm with picnic to follow). Help Butte Environmental Council clean up Bidwell Park, Little Chico Creek, Big Chico Creek, Sycamore Creek, Teichert Ponds and Lindo Channel.  Bring gloves and water and wear closed-toe shoes.  For the park cleanup (suitable for children), meet at Hooker Oak Park parking lot Map.  For the creeks cleanup, check back for meeting location.  Your help is especially needed if you have a pickup truck.  For more information, contact BEC.

Meet between picnic sites 24 and 25 by either walking in from the Madrone pedestrian entrance (off of Vallombrosa Avenue) to the picnic sites or by driving along N. Petersen Drive in the Park.
