EMERGENCY -- DIAL 911
Crash Rescue 3 is a 4x4 1500 gallon aircraft rescue firefighting vehicle received in February 2006. Major funding was provided by the Federal Aviation Administration.
While the runs at Station 3 are less than other stations, a combination of its location and purpose makes it equally important. Station 3 services the City of Chico Municipal Airport which, through FAA regulations, requires the crew to be on duty and prepared for any and all incoming and outgoing commercial flights. It also serves the surrounding industrial park and residential areas.
Engine 3R is a wildland fire engine. It is planned for replacement in 2009.
Engine 3 is a 1997 Hi-Tech Type 1 fire engine and is the primary response vehicle for non-aircraft emergencies.
