East 10th Street Storm Drainage Project

The East 10th Street Storm Drainage Project involves the installation of drainage improvements along three blocks of East 10th Street from State Route 99 to Linden Street, and one block each along Sycamore and Poplar Streets between 9th Street and Humboldt Avenue. Proposed improvements include surface and subsurface drainage infrastructure to capture and direct drainage to the existing storm drain system on Humboldt Avenue and outfalls along Little Chico Creek. Excavation depths are not anticipated to exceed a maximum of approximately 10 feet. Proposed improvements on 10th, Sycamore, and Poplar Streets also include roadway excavation and reconstruction of the portions of roadway within the project footprint utilizing aggregate base and HMA materials. Depending on the location, new surface drainage may include the construction of curb and gutter, valley gutter, and drain inlets to direct drainage to the underground collection system. The project also includes street lighting, limited sidewalk improvements, and upgrading existing ADA curb ramps where necessary. The project is anticipated to be phased over two construction seasons, commencing with the East 10th Street improvements in the spring of 2018.

The City of Chico cordially invites the community to attend the East 10th Street Reopening Celebration on Tuesday, September 25, at 10:00 a.m. Click below for more information:
