Division Chiefs

The Division Chiefs supervise major portions of the Fire Department organization. The Department is currently organized into an Operations Division and a Training and Prevention Division. The Division Chiefs report directly to the Fire Chief.

Operations Division

The Operations Division is lead by Division Chief Keith Carter. Chief Carter was appointed to the Operations Division Chief position in 2005. Chief Carter has over 20 years of fire service experience.

The Operations Division includes managing the six fire stations and their crews, apparatus maintenance and repair, communications, computer information systems, pre-fire planning, and special teams such as Rescue, Hazmat, Drowning Accident Rescue (DART) and Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM).

 

Training and Prevention

The Training and Prevention Division is lead by Division Chief Steve Simpson. Chief Simpson has over 25 years of fire service experience.

The Training and Prevention Division includes the Fire Prevention & Life Safety Bureau, Health & Safety, Emergency Preparedness, the Fire Training Center, and Volunteer Company 1. All training and multi-company drills are scheduled through the Training & Prevention Division.
